BEST SERVED COLD:  One of the reasons Jesus arrived was to show us what to do with vengeance.  He taught us to forego it.  He taught that we do well to replace evil with good.  By doing so, our own lives get much better.

HOW TO REMOVE REGRET:  We are made right with God by trusting Jesus, not by following rules.  Advent is the anticipation of the arrival of this one who saves us from the penalty of our sins.

HE CHANGES EVERYTHING: Jesus changes everything for the better.  He removes the spiritual tumors of hate and heals our souls.  Invite him to change you and he will.

BARBECUED BEEF FROM GOD: God celebrates our return to him always.  It doesn’t matter how sordid we’ve been nor how judgmental and self-righteous we’ve been; he always welcomes us back.  So let’s come back to him today.

GRATITUDE ROCKS: Focus on your blessings and you will be blessed.  Be thankful for all that God has given you and done for you and you will attract even more blessings.  Gratitude rocks!

A RADICALLY BETTER LIFE:  Radical alignment with the teachings of Jesus produces a radically better life.

A NEW PLAN FOR YOU: The old way of living, based on merit, doesn’t work.  God saw this and sent Jesus.  Now we have a new plan, based on mercy, that works.

IS THE BIBLE A BUFFET?  Since the Bible is the most useful collection of books in the world, we need to get to know all of it, not just the parts with which we agree.  Good, thoughtful Bible knowledge will produce a powerful faith in you.

A FLEXIBLE HEART:  God prefers a flexible heart over rigid adherence to a set of religious rules.  We can rejoice and be glad in this!

HOW TO BE CONTENT.  Contentment is not as elusive as we might think.

HOW TO LIGHTEN YOUR LOAD.  When we swap the yoke of the devil out for the yoke of Jesus, we have a much lighter yoke.  The devil wants us to suffer under his burdens and Jesus wants us to relax and enjoy his calling in our lives.

HOW TO PASS YOUR TEST.  We live better if we take the good with the bad in an attitude of gratitude.  Self-pity during times of testing inhibits growth.  Gratitude enhances growth.

A HERD OF SHEEPLE:  Don’t follow the crowd.  You can do much better following Christ.  Get rid of the moldy oldie way of living for a God-fashioned, much better life.

HOW TO HARVEST HAPPINESS.  Too many of us spend our lives trying to pointlessly entertain ourselves and then we die empty, without meaning.  However, if we respond to God (report for duty) we’ll have real life, eternal life.

STAY IN YOUR LANE:  as followers of Jesus, we are called to help and not to pick.

HOW TO FIND EXUBERANCE ABOUT LIFE: When we get serious about living God’s way, we become joyful and content.  Why not do it?

HOW TO PUSH THROUGH: You can push through your weaknesses when you let Christ take over.  The weaker you become, the stronger you become because of his sufficient grace.

HOW TO GET A NEW BODY:  When we trust Jesus to save us, we are guaranteed a new, flawless body.  So, trust him to save you!  ~ from 2 Corinthians 5.

SUSTAINABLE ENCOURAGEMENT:  Do you ever feel like your motivation runs out of gas?  Do you ever feel overwhelmed by what life is throwing at you?  If so, this is for you.

FOG ON THE CAUSEWAY:  Life is empty without love.  With extravagant love comes an extravagant and full life.

REPORTING FOR DUTY:  We need to accept each other without criticism just as Christ has accepted us as individuals.  We serve God by accepting all people.

HOW TO DISABLE DIVISION:  Our country is divided.  What can we do about it? The Bible offers several practical solutions.

WHAT IS A GOOD DEBT?  Let’s happily spend ourselves fulfilling the law of love.  When we do, we will find our financial stress greatly reduced.

HOW TO BEAT EVIL:  Don’t let evil conquer you; instead beat evil by doing good.

PERFECT MISFITS:  Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. 

HOW TO LIVE WITH LESS FEAR.  Faith and fear are not compatible and cannot simultaneously occupy the same human heart. 

CAN LIBERALS BE SAVED?  Yes.  Anyone who confesses Jesus as Lord and believes God raised him from the dead is saved.  It doesn’t matter if you are a communist, libertarian, democrat, republican, white or black, all are equal at the foot of the cross.

WHY DO WE HAVE BAD LUCK?  Bad luck doesn’t mean that God doesn’t love us.  We live in a war zone and sometimes get caught in the crossfire.  It will turn out for the best.

WHY WERE TICKS CREATED?  It is God’s plan to return us to Eden if we desire.  Let’s trust him to make that happen.

IF MAMA AIN'T HAPPY...  We can’t make mama happy on our own [we can’t refrain from sin], but we can be set free from sin and death through Jesus.

JESUS WEPT:  Because of who Jesus is, death is only a temporary separation for us.  We can rejoice in this fact.  Let’s trust him to save us and give us this eternal life.

DUTCH MAFIA COFFEE:  Stinginess begets poverty of the soul and sometimes the pocketbook.  Generosity begets generosity in all areas.  God loves a wise giver.

PLOWING WITH MY HEIFER:  As followers of Jesus, let’s throw blessings instead of stones

FISHING FOR FAITH:  When we realize God’s provision for us, faith becomes a natural response.  Look for the ways he has provided for you and let your faith blossom.

CAN YOU BELIEVE WITHOUT SEEING?  Doubt is normal but you can push through it.  Doubt is a step in the growth process.

WHO IS YOUR HUMBLE SERVANT?  Jesus set an example for us that we are called to serve, sometimes in humbling ways, just like he did.  When we do, we will find lots of blessings.

WHY GO TO CHURCH?  We can all think of lots of reasons to not go, especially these days with cyber-church.  Is it worth the hassle of getting ready and going out on a Sunday morning?

IS ETERNAL LIFE POSSIBLE?  We'll look into this, evaluating various portions of scripture.

TOO LATE TO REPENT?  It is never too late to repent.  The sooner you repent, the sooner the benefits of repentance become manifest.  Repent now.

ONLY FISH ON FRIDAY?  People raised in the reformed tradition often don’t observe Lent.  Since everything we do affects our relationship with God, we do well to evaluate the things we observe.  How can followers of Jesus best respond to Lenten traditions?

WHEN TO STOP PRAYING: Pray all the time.  The Father won’t send you spiders and snakes.  He has your best interests in mind because his love for you is powerful and limitless.  He is your best friend and your great protector.  He is crazy about you.
 

HEROES IN THE HOOD:  You ARE the solution

BATHSHEBA:  As followers of Jesus, we forgive even when our leaders are disloyal, understanding that forgiveness does not include trust.  Trust must be earned.

HOW TO RESCUE CRUSHED SPIRITS:  Check the Lord out; you’ll find he is good. [Psalm 34.8] He rescues those whose spirits are crushed. [Psalm 34.18]
